The storms that came through Danville Saturday afternoon mostly carried rain only, but the storms were much more intense west of Vermilion County.
Ameren Illinois reports more than 100 power poles and hundreds of power lines were destroyed or damaged in Saturday’s storms, causing thousands of people to lose power.
As of this morning, a few hundred Ameren customers were still without power in Christian, Macon, Marshall and McLean counties. Ameren says about 800 line crew members are working to restore power to its customers in Illinois.
