Vermilion County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested two men for allegedly setting off explosions in and around Catlin.
42-year-old Jason Boyd of St. Joseph was arrested last month and has been charged with possession of explosives. 58-year-old Kirk Marvel of Catlin was arrested Wednesday and faces charges of possession of explosives, and possession of and intent to deliver meth.
Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department Captain Michael Hartshorn says the two men detonated multiple homemade explosive devices within the city limits of Catlin and surrounding rural areas. No one was injured and no damage was reported from any of the explosions.
The explosions could be heard and felt several miles away.
