A former Danville police officer has been sentenced to two years of court supervision for battering his ex-wife at a youth baseball game last year.
Brian Cornett pled guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor battery charge.
Cornett was arrested in July of last year after getting into an argument with his ex-wife at a youth baseball game at the American Legion fields on North Jackson Street. Authorities say Cornett grabbed his ex-wife by her shoulders and threw her to the ground. He was not on duty at the time of the incident.
Cornett was placed on unpaid leave at the time of his arrest and is no longer with the police department.
