The Vermilion County Health Department says Vermilion County has 12 new coronavirus cases.
Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases are one person in their 80’s, two people in their 70’s, one person in their 60’s, two people in their 30’s, one person in their 20’s, four teenagers and one grade-school-aged child.
One of the new people diagnosed is part of a family who traveled to Alabama and now has had four positive cases. Two of the people are married and three share a household.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,298 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois on Monday, including 10 additional confirmed deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 183,241 cases and 7,526 deaths. The preliminary seven-day statewide case positivity is 4.0% As of Sunday night, 1,418 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 347 patients were in the ICU and 132 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
