The Vermilion Valley Conference and the Sangamon Valley Conference are combining their football schedules.
All remaining members of the SVC and the VVC will form the Vermilion Valley Football Alliance starting with the fall 2021 football season.
Current Sangamon Valley Conference schools other than PBL will make up the north division, while the Vermilion Valley Conference schools will be in the south division.
Three SVC schools—Cissna Park, Iroquois West and Watseka—will join the Vermilion Valley Conference full-time in the fall of 2021. PBL is leaving the SVC to join the Illini Prairie Conference at that time.
The two conferences previously had an “alliance” from 1999 until 2003 when the current Vermilion Valley was known as the Illini Central.
