Danville police are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting in which a 31-year-old woman was injured.
Commander Josh Webb says officers responded to Green Meadow Apartments in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive on Danville’s east side around 12:30 Sunday morning.
The victim told officers she was standing in a parking lot when she heard gunfire from an unknown direction. She was then shot in the shoulder, fled the scene and got a ride to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Several cars in the parking lot were also struck by bullets.
