Seven new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Vermilion County.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the cases involve one person in their 60’s, one person in their 50’s, two people in their 30’s and three people in their 20’s.
Toole says one person who tested positive over the weekend traveled to South Carolina recently.
Vermilion County currently has 21 active cases, with one person in the hospital and the rest in isolation. The county has had 226 total cases of the virus.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,319 new COVID-19 cases statewide Monday afternoon, including one death in Cumberland County.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 195,399 cases and 7,637 deaths. The seven-day statewide case positivity 4.1%. As of Sunday night, 1,481 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 352 patients were in the ICU and 138 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
