Danville Area Community College has a new vice president.
The college’s board of trustees appointed Dr. Natalie Page to succeed Dave Kietzmann, who retired in May after 50 years at DACC.
Page has served as the dean of academic services at South Suburban College in South Holland since 2017. She grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and holds a doctorate from Northern Illinois University and a master’s from Governors State University. Being the first person in her family to attend college, she says she understands the impact a community college can have on a person’s life.
“For community colleges and communities like this, it’s a game changes,” Page explains. “it can change a student’s life, whether they are on the non-traditional or traditional spectrum.”
Page says one of the things that attracted her to Danville is the college’s strong relationship with the communities it serves. She stressed that in her remarks at Thursday night’s meeting, telling trustees she wants to be able to work with everyone to meet the needs of the students.
“I want to be a change agent,” Page says. “I want to be a person that is collaborative as far as talking, listening and meeting the needs of the community, serving the community.”
Page will begin her role as DACC’s Vice President of Academic Affairs on Monday, September 13th. She will oversee all teaching and learning programs at the college, and also be in charge of the Adult and Middle colleges and the Hoopeston learning center.
