Three teenagers make up 12 local COVID-19 cases reported Thursday afternoon.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases consist of one person their 90’s, one person in their 50’s, one person in their 40’s, one person in their 30’s, three people in their 20’s and the three teenagers.
Toole says four people who were diagnosed Wednesday are college students from Vermilion County who attend school elsewhere. He also says two of the new cases are related family-wise to previously reported positive cases.
52 active cases exist locally, with one person hospitalized and the rest in isolation.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says 1,360 more cases have been reported statewide, including 25 more deaths, one of which is a woman in her 80’s from Edgar County.
The statewide totals are 240,003 cases and 8,115 deaths. The seven-day positivity rate has declined slightly to 4.4 percent.
