As the COVID-19 virus situation continues to develop, Danville Firefighters are alerting the public not to get alarmed if you see firefighters or emergency medical personnel wearing certain protective equipment. Fire Chief Don McMasters says Danville Firefighters may be seen wearing eye protection, masks, gloves, and in some cases, gowns while responding to some requests for emergency medical services.
‘’It is important that our citizens understand that this is precautionary and does not mean there is a confirmed case of any virus or disease in the Danville area,’’ said Chief McMasters in a news release.
‘’We strongly encourage community members to take preventive actions to protect yourself and your loved ones from the threat of COVID-19,’’ added McMasters. ‘’Please avoid shaking hands and touching your face, wash your hands with soap and water, remain home if you are sick, and stay away from people who are sick.’’
