Nine new COVID-19 cases were reported in Vermilion County Wednesday afternoon, including a college student.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases also include one person in their 90’s, three people in their 40’s, two people in their 30’s and three people in their 20’s.
Currently, Vermilion County has 56 active COVID-19 cases, with four people hospitalized. The overall number of cases is 391.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says the state added 1,337 new cases on Wednesday and 30 more deaths.
The deaths include a woman in her 80’s from Coles County, part of Region 6 and which is at a warning level for an outbreak according to IDPH.
Illinois’ totals now are 253,690 cases and 8,214 deaths. The seven-day statewide positivity rate dropped three-tenths of a percent, to 3.7 percent.
