The amount of new COVID-19 cases is still in the double digits in Vermilion County, with 10 more cases being reported Monday afternoon.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases consist of one person in their 80’s, two people in their 60’s, two people in their 50’s, one person in their 40’s, two people in their 30’s, one person in their 20’s and one teenager.
Five of the new cases are among people who have family members with previously reported positive cases.
Vermilion County currently has 70 active coronavirus cases, with four people hospitalized. There have been 439 total cases so far.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says 1,373 more people have contracted the virus statewide and five more deaths have occurred.
The statewide totals are 262,744 cases and 8,314 deaths. The seven-day positivity rate is down to 3.6 percent.
