Only one new COVID-19 case was reported Thursday afternoon by the Vermilion County Health Department.
Administrator Doug Toole says the resident is a person in their 50’s, bringing the county’s total number of cases to 475. Right now, there are 92 active cases around the county.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 2,056 new COVID-19 cases statewide, along with 25 more deaths.
Illinois’ statewide positivity rate is 3.6 percent. A total of 268,207 cases and 8,392 deaths have been announced overall since the pandemic began in March.
