The Vermilion County Health Department says 19 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the county.
Administrator Doug Toole says two of the new cases are from the same household. He also says the health department is anticipating an upward trend in new cases.
The new cases consist of:
- One person in their 80’s
- One person in their 70’s
- One person in their 60’s
- Three people in their 50’s
- Six people in their 40’s
- Two people in their 30’s
- Four people in their 20’s
- One school-aged child.
Vermilion County has 109 active cases, with seven people hospitalized and the rest in isolation. There have been 588 total cases locally.
Statewide, Illinois reported 2,257 new cases and 30 new deaths, including a Crawford County woman in her 70’s, a centenarian woman and a man in his 80’s from Macon County, and an Edgar County woman in her 70’s.
Illinois’ totals are 281,371 cases and 8,538 deaths. The seven-day positivity rate has been flat at 3.5 percent throughout the week.
