Megan Thee Stallion's attorney Alex Spiro has released a statement, saying that Tory Lanez is trying to stage a “smear campaign” to discredit Megan. As previously reported, Lanez released a surprise album called DAYSTAR on Friday (September 25th) and denied shooting Megan, among other claims.
Now, according to Variety, Spiro said a statement, “We have been made aware of manipulated text messages and invented email accounts that have been disseminated to the media in a calculated attempt to peddle a false narrative about the events that occurred on July the 12. A smear campaign can’t change the truth.”
A rep for Lanez has denied the claims, saying, “A representative of Tory strongly denies sending emails or otherwise creating a false narrative. The only commentary which has been made on this topic was the creative output on the album. We are investigating who could be sending these false emails and intend to take action against them.”
Variety received one of the emails cited by Megan's reps, which linked to a video in which a man who claimed to be Lanez’s former bodyguard stated that he had never seen Lanez be violent with women and “wouldn’t do nothing like” the accusations that have been made against him. Meanwhile, TMZ posted a screen shot of an email from LIV nightclub in Miami that claims Megan’s management, Roc Nation, influenced the plaintiff in a lawsuit filed against Lanez, claiming he went on a menacing attack in the club, a claim Roc Nation has denied.
A source close to the situation told Variety that law enforcement is in possession of the bullets that were removed from Megan’s foot.
HOSPITAL RECORDS PROVE MEGAN WAS SHOT
Meanwhile, Complex has reported that although Tory has denied shooting Megan on his new album, Cedars Sinai Medical Center's hospital records have confirmed that Megan was admitted to their facility on July 12th for a “gunshot injury.” The records also show that shrapnel — which are shell casing fragments from a bullet, was found in Megan's left heel. Megan was treated with irrigation and debridement which is the removal of hardened tissue or debris from her foot. She was given medication and they determined her to be okay for discharge on July 14th.
REPORT: TORY TOLD MEGAN TO 'DANCE' BEFORE SHOOTING HER?
More details have been released on the Megan thee Stallion shooting, with a new report saying that Tory Lanez told Megan to “dance, b*tch” before shooting her. According to Complex, a source close to the situation said that Lanez allegedly uttered those words before firing four shots at Megan's feet. The report also said that Lanez offered Megan and her friend Kelsey Nicole “hush money” because he was “desperate to fix his mistake.”
The source said, “When she gets out of the car and says, ‘I’m just going to walk home,’ he pulls out a gun and says, ‘Dance, b*tch,’ and he starts shooting her. As she’s going into surgery, this maniac is texting her. He’s basically trying to say he’ll pay. Her friend is also getting calls to receive money. He was trying to keep her quiet.”
The source said that they spoke up because Tory's new album has made people question Megan's side of the story, saying,”This is not okay and it’s not funny and it’s not something that we can just normalize.”
Tory's camp has denied these allegations, saying that they were “completely false, fabricated and insane.”
