Representative Hays was commenting Wednesday on WDAN Radio’s Newsmakers program. Hays noted many people expected he would face criticism for voting last year in support of the State’s new budget…
In addition to serving in the Illinois House of Representatives, Hays is a former Mayor of his hometown of Catlin. He also is a member of a band which he and two other legislators started for fun called the Boat Drink Caucus. The band earlier had a fund-raiser and sold t-shirts with proceeds going to Wounded Warriors. Rep. Hays announced on the show that another fund-raiser is being planned with American Legion Post 210 in Danville where a different t-shirt will be sold. He says proceeds from those sales will go to another cause involving Veterans…
Hays says several hundred dollars has already been raised through the t-shirt sales for Operation Honor Guard. And he hopes to raise more money for that cause.
