The Danville Police Department says trick-or-treating will be allowed in Danville on Halloween, but it is urging everyone to follow the recommended state guidelines in order to keep people safe.
Trick-or-treating will take place on Saturday, October 31st from 5-8 p.m.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says that kids should maintain six feet of distance between each other and to wear a face mask, and it says a costume is not a substitute for a mask.
Candy is recommended to be placed on a table, and people are encouraged to wash their hands before eating the candy.
Danville police say residents should leave a light on outside if they want kids to come to their houses for candy.
