The Vermilion County Health Department reports 27 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend.
17 new cases were announced Saturday afternoon and an additional 10 yesterday. Those follow 51 new cases reported Friday afternoon and the county’s seventh death from the virus.
The new weekend cases consist of:
- One person in their 90’s
- Four people in their 70’s
- Six people in their 60’s
- Three people in their 50’s
- Four people in their 40’s
- Two people in their 30’s
- Four people in their 20’s
- One teenager
- One toddler
13 of the new weekend cases are related to previously reported positive cases.
Nine Vermilion County residents are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 complications. The county has now passed 1,000 total cases, with a current total of 1,060 cases overall.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reports 2,727 new cases and nine deaths, bringing a total of 319,150 cases and 8,984 deaths statewide.
