Vermilion County added 59 new COVID-19 cases Thursday afternoon, while the state set a single-day high for cases.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the county also saw its eighth death from the virus—a man in his 70’s who had been hospitalized.
The state of Illinois also set a one-day record total for cases, with 4,015 cases reported Thursday statewide. 1,900 people statewide and nine Vermilion County residents are hospitalized due to the virus.
The new cases consist of:
- One person in their 90’s
- One person in their 80’s
- Three people in their 70’s
- 13 people in their 60’s
- Seven people in their 50’s
- Six people in their 40’s
- Four people in their 30’s
- 10 people in their 20’s
- Eight teenagers
- Four grade-school-aged children
- One preschooler
- One toddler
Vermilion County currently has 263 active cases and 1,211 overall cases.
