The Vermilion County Health Department says Vermilion County saw 15 new COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend.
Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases consist of:
- One person in their 70’s
- One person in their 60’s
- Four people in their 50’s
- Two people in their 40’s
- Two people in their 30’s
- Two people in their 20’s
- One teenager
- Two grade-school-aged children
Toole says 10 of the new cases are related to previously reported positive cases. Vermilion County has 279 active coronavirus cases and has had 1,266 overall since March.
The seven-day positivity rate for Region 6 of the Illinois Department of Public Health is 7.6 percent. New restrictions will be imposed if that number reaches eight percent for three consecutive days.
