State Senator Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington) will be in a new leadership position in the 100th General Assembly. The 53rd District Senator has been appointed by Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno to serve as Assistant Republican Leader.
‘’I am thankful for the opportunity and excited to continue our work to forge common-sense solutions to move our state forward,’’ says Barickman. ‘’Our biggest task moving forward is to continue to work on the recent budget compromise put forward by Leader Radogno and Senate President Cullerton,’’ added Senator Barickman.
‘’One of the most important parts of this whole package is school funding reform. I am working right now with my colleagues on the School Funding Reform Commission to put forward a plan that will reduce the financial inequity that has been hurting our students for far too long.’’
In addition to his duties as State Senator, Barickman is also an attorney with the law firm of Meyer Capel and is involved in real estate investments and development.
