The Vermilion County Health Department reported 21 new COVID-19 cases locally Tuesday afternoon, and several parts of the state are now under mitigation measures to help stop the spread.
Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases consist of:
- One person in their 90’s
- Four people in their 60’s
- Seven people in their 50’s
- Three people in their 40’s
- One person in their 30’s
- Four people in their 20’s
- One grade-school-aged child.
The number of active cases fell slightly to 192. Vermilion County has had 1,335 total cases. Eight residents are hospitalized with virus-related complications.
Governor J.B. Pritzker announced new restrictions in DuPage, Kane, Kankakee and Will counties that will go into effect on Friday. Those measures include no indoor dining and a reduction in gathering sizes to 25 percent capacity.
Region 6’s positivity rate remained flat at 7.6 percent for the fourth straight day.
