One person has died following a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 74 east of Covington Sunday afternoon.
Indiana State Police say 29-year-old Patricia Kabwe of Reynoldsburg, Ohio was driving westbound near mile marker 10 around 4 p.m. Sunday when she drove through the median and onto the eastbound lanes.
Kabwe’s vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Ryan Murphy of Hinsdale, which was then rear-ended by a vehicle driven by 47-year-old John Moore of Louisville, Kentucky.
Both of the drivers in the eastbound lane were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. Kabwe was pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway was closed for about two hours as police investigated the crash.
