Danville Police are seeking information to help them solve two armed robberies and a home invasion in which shots were fired. All three incidents occurred Sunday night according to Police Commander Joshua Webb.
Webb says the home invasion occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m. in the 900 block of Forrest Street in South Danville. Police spoke to a resident who said several Black males entered his home wearing masks and armed with guns. The victim was able to flee his home but says he heard several gunshots as he was fleeing. Nothing was reported missing from the home and there were no injuries. The victim said all of the suspects were wearing dark clothing.
The first armed robbery occurred at the Best Western Inn located on Eastgate Drive. Officers responded to that location at 8:45 p.m. They were told a white male entered the business armed with a handgun and wearing a ski mask. He demanded money and was given an undisclosed amount from a cash drawer before fleeing. There were no injuries. The robber was described as a white male, approximately six feet tall, wearing all black clothing and a black ski mask.
Then about three hours later Danville Police received a report of an armed robbery at a Phillips 66 gas station in the 600 block of South Bowman Avenue. Upon arrival around 11:40 p.m. officers were told the business had been robbed by two Black males. Both robbers had their faces covered and one was armed with a handgun. An employee said the robbers stole cash and multiple scratch-off lottery tickets. The suspects fled in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.
The first suspect in the Phillips 66 robbery is described as a Black male, about five-feet-nine to six-feet tall. He was wearing a red hoodie and black ski mask, and was armed with a handgun.
The second suspect is also described as a Black male, five-feet nine to six-feet tall. He was wearing a brown hoodie and bandana over his face.
Commander Webb says investigators are continuing to work on all of these cases, and no other information is being released at this time.
