Vermilion County has recorded its 13th death from COVID-19.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says a man in his 70’s died of the virus. Nine people have died from the local area of the virus in the last month.
52 new cases were reported Tuesday afternoon. Toole says the new cases consist of:
- Four people in their 80’s
- Six people in their 70’s
- Six people in their 60’s
- Eight people in their 50’s
- Four people in their 40’s
- Seven people in their 30’s
- Eight people in their 20’s
- Five teenagers
- Two grade-school-aged children
- One preschooler
- One toddler
Governor J.B. Pritzker announced yesterday that the city of Chicago is being placed under new restrictions due to a rise in COVID-19 cases there.
Currently, Vermilion County has 181 active cases, and 16 people are hospitalized.
