Although there was no need for a Primary Election in Vermilion County this month, early voting begins this week for the April 4th Consolidated Election. Thursday, February 23rd, is the first day for early voting. It is also the first day for election officials to mail out voter information.
There are five candidates running for four seats on the Danville District 118 School Board in April. All but two of the seats for Alderman on the Danville City Council are uncontested. Six candidates are running for four spots on the Danville Township Board. Danville voters will also be helping to elect Danville Area Community College Trustees and members of the Regional Board of School Trustees.
Small communities around the county will also be filling key positions in the April 4th vote. Among them are Westville and Georgetown where multiple candidates are running for Mayor and city council seats. And voters in the Bismarck-Henning and Rossville-Alvin School Districts will decide on April 4th whether they want to establish a cooperative high school.
Again, the Early Voting for the April 4th Consolidated Election begins on Thursday, February 23rd.
