A downtown Danville spot for people to drop off and pick up winter clothing items is back this year.
The Giving Tree launched on Friday morning. It is located in the back of the Education Personnel Credit Union at the corner of Main and Walnut streets.
As part of a kickoff event on Friday morning, a representative of the Danville Area Chapter of Credit Unions donated a $1,250 check to the Dwelling Place. Donna Edington of the Dwelling Place says the money will be used for the organization’s pantry, hygiene kits and other general items.
People can drop off coats, hats and gloves at the Giving Tree and people who are in need can pick them up.
