The Vermilion County Health Department says that 134 more people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 locally, and two more people have died from it.
Administrator Doug Toole says the two people who died were a woman in her 90’s and a man in his 70’s. Vermilion County has seen 36 COVID deaths since the pandemic began.
The new cases announced this afternoon consist of:
- Four people in their 80’s
- Five people in their 70’s
- 14 people in their 60’s
- 24 people in their 50’s
- 21 people in their 40’s
- 17 people in their 30’s
- 21 people in their 20’s
- 17 teenagers
- Six grade-school-aged children
- One preschooler
- Two toddlers
- Two infants
Toole says he would “not be surprised” to see the county have more than 100 COVID-19 cases reported each day in December. Currently, there are 283 active cases locally, and 27 residents in the hospital. Vermilion County has seen a total of 2,893 cases since March.
