As they have done in years past, Slumberland and Love INC partnered once again Monday morning to deliver mattresses and other home items to families in need in the Danville area.
A small group of volunteers loaded two trucks with bedding items and then delivered the items to multiple locations around Danville.
Michael Rohall, the executive director of Love INC, says the group delivered 14 beds this year. Like most other things that have been altered throughout the past year, he says things were a bit different for this event as well.
“This year with COVID, we’re kind of restricted on what we can do,” Rohall says. “We’re doing more of a door drop type of thing this year: take them in, whereas in years past we would have done a full set up.”
Rohall says Slumberland provided not just mattresses and frames but also sheets, blankets, pillows and bed bug covers. He says the funding is provided by Slumberland, with other partnerships from churches and volunteers throughout the community.
