A Danville man who has often volunteered for various community causes has been named has been selected as the Danville Ambucs 84th First Citizen. Fred Faulstich has taken the term ‘’community volunteer’’ to new heights according to a release from the AMBUCS.
Faulstich was born into the printing business founded by his father 85 years ago. Fred and his brother Bill have successfully continued the business. Fred is now 78 but he continues to work every day at Faulstich Printing.
Faulstich can be found every year making chilli for an annual event sponsored by the Lions Club. He has belonged to that organization for over 50 years. He has also volunteered for many other local causes, including chairing the United Way campaign, serving on the Schlarman Foundation and Danville Area Community College Boards, and helping the Boy Scouts and YMCA.
In announcing Faulstich had been selected as the 84th First Citizen, the AMBUCS said, ‘’Fred has a passion for purpose, giving back to his community. For Fred, it is never about the recognition or the resume. He is focused on this community and what he can do to make life better in Vermilion County.’’
