Danville Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Minnesota Street early this morning for a report of a female victim with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 28 year old female victim who indicated she had been shot by a male acquaintance in the 900 block of Fowler Street. The victim stated she followed the male subject to the area of the 100 block of Minnesota Street where she called 911 and waited for officers to arrive.
Danville Police executed a search warrant on a resident in the 100 block of Minnesota which was found to be unoccupied. The name of the male acquaintance is not being released at this time pending further investigation. The female victim was transported to Carle Hospital where she was treated for a wound to the face. She is currently listed in stable condition and expected to recover from the injury.
