Family members of a retired Rossville-Alvin school administrator and World War II veteran are inviting the public to send him cards to mark his 100th birthday in January.
Frank Morse will celebrate his 100th birthday on January 10th. He served in the Navy during World War II, being serving aboard the USS Baxter.
After his military service, Mr. Morse moved to Rossville, where he taught in the Rossville-Alvin school district, later serving as principal of Rossville-Alvin High School. He and his late wife, Mary Ellen, had two children.
Mr. Morse’s daughter, retired District 118 teacher Karel Volpert, says she hopes her father can receive at least 100 cards for his birthday.
Cards can be sent to Mr. Morse at 111 Henderson St., Rossville, IL, 60963.
