Residents of Danville and surrounding communities will be able to use the drive-through COVID-19 testing in Danville for one last time in 2020.
The Illinois Department of Public Health’s mobile testing team will be back at the Vermilion County Health Department, located at 200 S. College St. in Danville, for testing from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says 76 people braved the chilly weather and afternoon snow on Wednesday to get tested.
Anyone can be tested, regardless of symptoms or immigration status. There is no cost to the individual for testing, but they should bring their insurance card if they have one. However, insurance is not required. Specimens will be collected using a simple nasal swab. Drive-through and walk-up testing are both available at the testing site.
COVID-19 testing is also available in Danville at Aunt Martha’s Health and Wellness Center, OSF PromptCare and the Carle Clinic location on Fairchild Street.
