The Vermilion County Health Department hosted its fourth vaccination clinic Tuesday to protect healthcare workers from COVID-19. Health Department Administrator Douglas Toole told county board members last evening that 390 people have been vaccinated so far, and one more clinic for healthcare workers is being held this week.
Toole said he expects level 1B inoculations to begin next week. Those in that group include police officers, firefighters, first responders, teachers, essential food workers, and citizens over 65 years of age.
The County Health Department is a good site for the clinics, according to Toole, but he added other nearby locations are being considered in order to hold larger clinics. And Toole added he expects to know by Friday whether the 1B clinics will be able to begin next week.
