Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer is speaking-out about the recent violence involving shots fired in the community. In a statement to VermilionCountyFirst.com News the Mayor said no one is more frustrated about the recent incidents than him.
‘’The City continues to look for progressive ways to combat these challenges, and while we do not disclose publically our strategy, we are increasing our supplemental patrols and targeted enforcement, while also working strongly with the States Attorney who is committed to seeing these cases through to the highest charges,’’ said the Mayor.
‘’If people want to blame me for these incidents so be it,’’ added Eisenhauer, ‘’but the real disappointment should be in those who know individuals involved, who know those in our community with illegal guns, who know people who either have committed crimes or plan to commit crimes, and yet don’t say anything about it.’’
‘’This community needs to reinforce the ‘’See Something, Say Something’’ campaign, and be willing to come forward to police and identify those involved,’’ added Mayor Eisenhauer. ‘’We are absolutely committed to stopping the violence in our community,’’ says the Mayor, ‘’but it takes every citizen working WITH us, not blaming us, in our efforts to bring those responsible to justice.’’
