The Danville District 118 School Board has reorganized but decided to keep the same leaders. Bill Dobbles will continue to serve as board president and Dr. Randal Ashton will continue as the vice-president of the board.
Also during Wednesday evening’s reorganizational session the board thanked Frank Young for eight years of service. Young decided not to seek re-election. His spot on the board is being filled by Shannon Schroeder, a new-comer to the board of education.
Young had earlier served on the Danville Area Community College Board and is a former Vermilion County State’s Attorney.
Also during last night’s meeting the board approved a transfer of nearly $600-thousand dollars from the working cash to the transportation fund. Danville District 118 – like other Illinois school districts – is awaiting money from the state.
