Aqua Illinois Water Company customers would be paying more if the Illinois Commerce Commission approves the company’s new rate hike request. Aqua Area Manager Bob Ervin says the increase being sought amounts to about nine-and-a-half percent.
Ervin says the company is proud of the fact it has remained out of the rate hike arena for six years. He says Aqua is also proud of the fact it was able to keep the increase being sought in the single digits.
The water company has been making a number of improvements to its system. Just last week work got underway on phase 2 of a project along North Vermilion Street in Danville.
The Illinois Commerce Commission is not expected to act on the rate hike request for another eleven months. The company serves not only Danville, but also supplies water to the Catlin, Tilton, Westville and Belgium areas…along with the Lake Boulevard and Hooton areas, Philo and Indianola.
