The East Central Illinois Community Action Agency is extending hours to help qualified citizens get energy assistance. The agency provides help with energy bills and/or emergency assistance.
Vermilion county residents could already apply for assistance at the East Central Illinois Community Action Agency office at 56 North Vermilion Street in Danville on Mondays through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The agency is offering extended hours on Wednesday until 6:30 p.m. and Saturday appointments are available between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Or you can call (217)-554-9100.
During the COVID pandemic, customers must stop by the office to schedule an appointment in order to be served. Customers may request a virtual or face-to-face appointment.
The program provides eligible individuals and families to receive direct payments toward their energy bills. Citizens should seek help before they receive a disconnection notice while funds are still available.
