The Veterans Affairs—Illiana Health Care System is looking for more people to join its team.
Tom Hossfeld, the head of human relations at the Danville V.A., says the organization is currently delivering COVID-19 vaccinations to patients, and he says it is more than any other organization in the country right now.
Locally, the V.A. will be holding five virtual job fair information sessions on Zoom today. Hossfeld says he will be giving a basic introduction to what the V.A. is and does and what the prospective employees would be joining. He also says the process will only take a few days.
“If we’re going to qualify them, we need to have their resumes by Tuesday at 10 a.m., and then we’re going to qualify them that day, and then if they qualify we’re going to give them an interview anytime Wednesday through Friday depending on what job they apply for,” he explained.
Among the positions the V.A. is looking to hire are all types of nursing positions, both full time and part time, advanced medical support assistants, a medical technologist, chaplain and a psychologist.
Virtual Zoom sessions will be held today (Monday) at 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
