Members of the City of Danville’s Public Works Committee are going to vote Tuesday night on vacating two alley ways next to businesses that have been requested by owners.
The first is located in the 800-block of Oak Street next to a building owned by Heartland Properties, and the other is an east-west alley next to the Days Hotel on Gilbert Street. Public hearings will be held at the start of the meeting.
Committee members will also vote on accepting a $26,785 bid from Schaffer, Incorporated to purchase 500 95-gallon waste containers for use as part of the city’s waste collection service.
Members will also vote to approve $45,000 in engineering services for the Fifth Street Sanitary Pump Station to be rehabilitated. City officials say the pump station has exceeded its life expectancy and is in need of replacement work. The engineering work will be done through Donahue and Associates.
The committee will also consider accepting a $175,000 grant from the Illinois Housing Development Authority, and to approve the annual action plan for Community Development Block Grant funds.
The public can view Tuesday night’s meeting on the city’s YouTube channel. The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
