The Vermilion County Health Department is reporting that 100 more local residents have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says there are 311 active cases locally, and 16 residents are hospitalized.
The new cases, broken down by age, consist of:
- Two people in their 80’s
- Seven people in their 70’s
- 14 people in their 60’s
- 14 people in their 50’s
- 12 people in their 40’s
- 18 people in their 30’s
- Six people in their 20’s
- 17 teenagers
- Six grade-school-aged children
- Two preschoolers
- Two toddlers
Overall, Vermilion County has seen 8,088 COVID cases and 96 deaths.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says that 993 county residents have been fully vaccinated, and 8,499 doses have been administered.
