More than 100 people have now died from COVID-19 in Vermilion County, according to the latest figures from the Vermilion County Health Department.
Administrator Doug Toole says five more people have died from the virus locally. They are two men in their 80’s, one woman in her 70’s and two men in their 50’s. Overall, 101 people have now died from COVID in the county.
Toole also reported 134 new cases on Friday night. There are currently 302 active cases locally, and 12 people are hospitalized with the virus. Overall, Vermilion County has seen 8,222 positive cases.
The state’s drive-through COVID testing unit will be returning to the Vermilion County Health Department on Sunday, February 21st for people to receive free testing.
