The Vermilion County Health Department says that 51 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the county.
Administrator Doug Toole says that the cases include five people in their 90’s, three people in their 80’s, two grade-school-aged children and one infant. There have been a total of 8,436 cases overall.
Currently, 12 Vermilion County residents are hospitalized with COVID-19, and the county has 262 active cases. 103 local residents have died of COVID since the pandemic began.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says that Region 6’s rolling positivity rate is continuing to decline, now at 3.1 percent. Vermilion County is at 3.8 percent, and the state is at 2.8 percent positivity.
