A former member of the Vermilion County Board has been selected to become the new Director of the Vermilion County Animal Shelter. Terry Stal officially begins in his new post on Monday, July 3rd, according to Vermilion County Board Chairman Mike Marron.
Stal replaces Paige Brown who resigned from the Animal Shelter position to take a job in the private sector in Hoopeston.
Marron says although he and Stal did not always agree on issues on the County Board, he thinks Stal will do a good job in his new position. And Marron adds he hopes the Department of Animal Regulations will be able to continue the progress that was being made under Brown. Marron says, hopefully, the Vermilion County Animal Shelter will be able to get to the point where it can stand on its own financially.
