The Vermilion County Health Department is reporting that 35 more COVID-19 cases have been confirmed locally.
Administrator Doug Toole says that the new cases include two people in their 80’s, one person in their 70’s, four people in their 60’s, five grade-school-aged children and one preschooler. The county has had a total of 8,786 positive cases throughout the pandemic, which is now more than a year old.
Currently, there are five Vermilion County residents who are hospitalized with COVID-19. 257 cases are active.
All of the health department’s vaccination clinics this week have filled up. Walk-in appointments for the Johnson and Johnson single-dose vaccine are available this week at the Village Mall in Danville. Area residents can schedule their times online through MyCarle or by calling 217-902-6100. All appointments will be in the former Hallmark store location inside the mall, from 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. through Sunday.
