The Vermilion County Health Department is hosting a free electronics recycling event in the north parking lot at Danville Area Community College on Saturday, May 8th from 9-11 a.m. It is one of two electronics recycling events scheduled for this year, with the other taking place in October.
All residents of Danville and Vermilion County will be able to get rid of their unwanted electronic items at the event, including televisions, computers and other items. Everyone who attends will be limited to four large items per vehicle and no more than seven total items.
Electronic items such as cell phones, printers, DVD players, vacuum cleaners and fans will also be accepted, but Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says that those items can also be taken to Bryant Industries and Mervis Industries throughout the week.
Batteries, paint, oil and large appliances will not be accepted.
Donations will also be collected on-site by Keep Vermilion County Beautiful to support its future events.
A full list of items that will and will not be accepted can be viewed on the health department’s website, www.vchd.org, and on its Facebook page.
