A crash involving a semi tractor-trailer along Interstate 74 west of Tilton closed the westbound lanes for awhile early Monday (February 5th, 2018). It also scattered debris into the eastbound lanes.
Illinois State Police say their preliminary information indicates the truck was traveling westbound at milepost 212 when it left the road and struck a bridge support for an overpass.
Westbound traffic was re-routed for about two hours after the crash which occurred at 4:50 a.m. The driver was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment. His name and condition were not released. State Police say the driver has been issued a ticket for Improper Lane Usage.
