The Turtle Run Golf Club in Danville will be hosting the AMBUCS Friday Night Concert Series this year. The AMBUCS announced the new home for the concerts today (Tuesday, February 6th) and also set the dates for the new venue.
The free concerts are scheduled for June 1st, 15th and 29th, July 20th, and August 3rd and 17th. Bands will play from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., with the bands to be announced later.
‘’We are excited about the new location, which features a large covered patio, a big grassy area for lawn chairs and blankets, great food cooked on-site, adjacent well-lit parking, and real bathrooms,’’ said Dean Carlton. He is a co-chair of the AMBUCS Friday Night Concerts.
The concerts have previously been held at Temple Plaza in downtown Danville.
‘’We are excited to host AMBUCS Friday Nights at Turtle Run,’’ said Mindy Dawson, owner of Turtle Run. ‘’This is a great opportunity to utilize our outdoor entertainment venue to help support all of the amazing things AMBUCS does for our community,’’ she added.
AMBUC volunteers will help sell beverages, assist with parking, help with food service, and will also be selling 50-50 raffle tickets. Proceeds from sponsorships, tips, and donations will be used by the AMBUCS for local projects to help persons with disabilities. The AMBUCS have been involved for many years in such areas as providing therapeutic tricycles, kids summer camps, challenger league baseball and local playgrounds for everyone.
