OSF HealthCare says it has reached agreement on a new contract with Aetna/Coventry Insurance for its medical centers in Danville and Urbana. OSF HealthCare is yet to reach agreements with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and Healthlink. Shelli Dankoff, Media Relations Coordinator with OSF HealthCare, says they hope to reach agreements on the remaining health plans soon.
OSF announced earlier that if a patient at their medical centers in Danville or Urbana was under active treatment with such services as chemotherapy or physical therapy prior to February 1st, 2018, — and has insurance with a company where negotiations are continuing — OSF HealthCare would make sure the patient is only responsible for costs they would have incurred if the facilities were in-network.
The new agreement with Aetna/Coventry covers OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville and OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana.
