This year’s senior class at Danville High School will have the opportunity to hold an in-person graduation ceremony, and it will be taking place at the high school.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Beth Yacobi says that the high school graduation will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 5th at the football field. If there is rain in the forecast, then the event will be held inside the David S. Palmer Arena the following day at 3 p.m.
Eighth graders at North Ridge Middle School will be promoted during a ceremony that will be held at the arena on Tuesday, June 8th at 6 p.m.
School board member Johnnie Carey noted at last night’s meeting that this will be DHS’s 150th graduating class, and she says many of the graduates have spoke volumes about having a graduation ceremony. She says she hopes the students can have a little bit of happiness after the tumultuous school year caused by the pandemic.
